Glenn Labs was formed in May of 2007. The band practices in a Market Street apartment with beers. Some of the members of the band are way in to different kinds of musical gear and like to chat in between takes about bigsbies, J Basses and obscure African percussion pieces like shakakas.
Brian Davis (guitar and lead vocals) is the main creative force behind the band. He likes seldom used chord progressions, rhythm changes and unordinary forms. He has a knack for catchy melodies, so as a result, his songs are kick ass and truly original.
Mike Gubman (bass) brings round sounds, proper bass lines, and an extensive background in ethnomusicology to the table. His gravitas derives from his beard. Seriously, this guy can really lay it down.
Drew Baglino (keys) will blow your mind with his Rhodes patched through to a phatty Roland via a ring modulator, among other amazing settings. Boglins knows the notes to play and when.
Robby Bearman (drums) credits his natural rhythm to the oft celebrated and well documented fact that at the moment of his conception, the music video for "You Can Call Me Al" was playing in the background on a Sony Trinitron. This was made possible by an as yet unexplained and undocumented loop in time - a fortunate happenstance that also contributes to Robby's connection with the rhythms of the universe.
